Fredericksburg's Volunteers in Police Support was founded in 1998 when the first
Citizen Police Academy class graduated. The mission of FVPS is to support
Gillespie County's Law Enforcement organizations. FVPS has its own slate of
elected Officers responsible to

How to Join FVPS
Upon submission of your application for membership with FVPS, an
investigation of your background will be conducted. If accepted you will attend
a twelve-week course in various subjects of Law Enforcement. Upon successful
completion of the training class, you will be issued a uniform and may at this
time elect to participate in the various activities of FVPS.
